Diamond Jubilee

Welcome to the page which will keep you informed about the progress we are making towards the Croughton Village Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.....

Books, DVDs and CDs

Do you have any unwanted books, DVD's or CD's in good condition that you would be prepared to donate to the Jubilee fete second-hand stall? If so, please contact Shirley on 810862. Thank you!

Hunting for Bunting
1st February 2012

Seamstresses, sewing people and anyone else who would like to help - come along to the village hall on May 7th to help create the streams of bunting to decorate the village for our Jubilee celebrations.
And please save any odds and ends of material and fabric, and items of clothing that you no longer need and which can be cut up for bunting. Bring it all along on May 7th together with pinking shears, scissors, pins, thread, sewing machines, glue and staples for a fun and creative day.
If you can help or want more info, contact Fran on 811823 or email franbs@btinternet.com

Croughton Jubilee Parade

To allow you all plenty of thinking, planning, making time, this is a heads up for the Croughton Jubilee celebration parade. The theme is “Memories of the last 60 years”. Suggestion are anything that has happened since the coronation 60 years ago, such as fashion (mini skirts, mods and rockers), music (Abba look alikes?), history or any royal theme. You may wish to take part on your own, with your partner, family or any group variation. There will be several prize categories and full details will soon be available on the Croughton Village Website.

Croughton Diamond Jubilee Auction
13th November 2011

This is a call out to all residents of Croughton to send in ideas for an auction that will be part of Croughton Diamond Jubilee celebrations next summer, and which will raise money for local causes. Ideas for the auction don't have to be an activity-they could be an item (e.g. something for the home or garden), an experience, a service or an activity. Basically anything that people may want to bid for.

Please let us have details of any personal or business contacts they may have who might be interested in donating an item that we could include in the auction. Any ideas and/or suggestions should be forwarded to Julian Grant or Jo Counsell (14, High Street, Croughton). Email:counsellgrant@yahoo.co.uk"

Jubilee Celebrations —Dog Show

We are thinking of holding a Dog Show on the morning of June 2nd, Jubilee Day, before the start of the main celebrations. We would like to gauge what interest there is in the village for such an event. There would be classes for all sorts of dogs, as well as amusing ones.
Please could you either give me a ring on 810207, or email me at cyril.fletcher2@tiscali.co.uk if you would like to attend such an event, or show a dog. This is not a firm commitment, but a chance for us to see if such an event would be viable.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Cyril Fletcher
