The Chilean wines and ruby port are great drinks to serve at parties and to share with friends over dinner. The specially designed labels feature drawings of Croughton church and dovecote, making the bottles beautiful gifts for Christmas. And on top of that, every bottle you buy generates a donation to the Croughton Jubilee Fund. All the details are provided below.
Perfect to share with friends
"Croughton Village" Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot wines are a great way to share something of our village with your friends and family.
The wines from Chile have been selected and specially labelled for us by La Cava Wine, and each bottle features a beautiful drawing of Croughton All Saints Church by local artist Mary Laws.
For every bottle sold, a donation will be made to the Croughton Jubilee Fund, which is helping to raise money to support projects and maintain some of the unique buildings within the village.
In addition to the two wines, there is also a "Croughton Village" ruby port, which features on the label another painting by Mary Laws of the Dovecote at Manor Farm.
How to order
"Croughton Village" Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot wines cost £6.98 per bottle. For each bottle sold, a donation of £1.10 will go to the Croughton Jubilee Fund.
"Croughton Village" ruby port costs £13.99 per bottle, with £1.50 of that money going to the Jubilee Fund.
The wines and port are supplied by local wine merchant La Cava Wine, a regular presenter at the Croughton Wine Appreciation Group wine tastings. You can buy the wines and port from La Cava Wine online or contact Fran Bodley-Scott (tel: 01869 811823), Caroline Murdoch (tel: 01869 810443), or Lesley Ramsay with details of how many bottles you would like to order.
Note: There's no minimum order size if you buy from Fran, Caroline or Lesley and we will endeavour to get the wine to you as soon as possible (cash or cheque on delivery please). If you need the wine by a particular date, do please give us as much notice as possible.
If would like to order several bottles of wine, you may find it more convenient to buy online via the La Cava Wine website. They have a good selection of additional wines that you can buy, you can order mixed cases of wine, and you can pay by credit card.
Croughton Village Wines
Croughton Village Sauvignon Blanc: From Chille, this wine is crisp and clean with grapefruit and gooseberry aromas and a lovely fresh citrusy palate. A wonderfully fresh and vibrant unoaked wine for any occasion.
Croughton Village Merlot: This wine is sourced for us from the heart of Chile’s Central Valley. A silky smooth and plummy Merlot with lots of ripe brambly fruit flavours and a hint of bitter chocolate and smoke.
Croughton Village ruby port: The freshest style of Port, bottled young and bursting with dark fruits such as plums and redcurrants. Delicious on it’s own but even better with a cheeseboard.
