Croughton Pre-school receives “outstanding” inspection outcome
15th April 2011

Staff, Committee and children at Croughton Pre-school are celebrating achieving grade 1 - OUTSTANDING in every judgement of their recent OFSTED inspection.

The setting, based at the Village Hall, Wheelers Rise, Croughton was inspected by Ofsted on 12th January 2011.  The committee run pre-school was praised for its excellent awareness of the ever changing needs of children and staffs extensive knowledge of child care and education.

Kerri Seymour, Supervisor of the pre-school praised staff and volunteers:

“I am so pleased and proud of the staff and committee who have worked so hard to achieve the best for our pre-school.  It has been alot of very hard work. I would particularly like to thank the committee, for whom many, this is a voluntary role that runs alongside their other jobs.”

The staff team were highly praised within the report:
“Staff have an excellent understanding of how children learn and are acutely aware of how different they can all be. They are constantly looking for ways in which to promote learning for all children. They recognise that some children do not learn so easily in some areas, such as, numeracy, reasoning and problem solving and take time to plan for individuals, for example, lots of outdoor play, messy and tactile play.Staff make exceptionally good use of every opportunity to help children learn in practical ways both in and outdoors.”

Croughton pre-school runs sessions 9–12 on Mondays, 9–12 and 12–3pm on Tues, Weds & Thurs and currently has spaces in all afternoon sessions.
