The church and cemetery
Thank you!
To everyone who sang, listened and otherwise participated in the carol singing round the village. Just over £100 was raised for Christmas charities supporting those who are homeless or lonely over the Christmas holidays.
Croughton Church
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever.Hebrews 13:8
This means that the God the people of Croughton worshipped and built our Village Church for is the same God we worship today, and the same God we want our children and future generations to know.

All Saints Church, Croughton, is part of Astwick Vale Benefice on the southern edge of the Peterborough Diocese.Astwick Vale Benefice unites Christians from the villages of Aynho, Croughton, Evenley, Farthinghoe, Hinton-in-the-Hedges and Steane. We worship both in our own village churches and together as a benefice. On the first Sunday of each month there is a 9.30am Service of Morning Prayer in Croughton Church, and on the third Sunday a 9.30am Service of Holy Communion; both with hymns.
The Rector
The School
Our primary school is Croughton All Saints Church of England Primary School, a Church of England Voluntary Controlled school, with two Foundation Governors (one of whom is the Rector) appointed from the church. Revd Gill regularly visits the school to lead worship and workshops, and works with teachers and children to develop the School?s Christian ethos.
Holiday Club
As a benefice we run a weeklong Holiday Club each August, based in Croughton School, for children of primary school age across the villages. Sunday School is held in Aynho church 9.30 ? 10.45am on the first and third Sundays of each month during school term time. Benefice Praise and Play (for babies, toddlers, little folk, parents, grandparents and carers) takes place in Aynho Church 10-11.30am on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. Regular Bible-based discussion groups take place in Aynho and Evenley Villages, and study groups during lent. We pray together as a Benefice every Friday between 6 and 7pm. If you would like us to pray for you, or for a friend or member of your family, or for a particular situation, or you would like to talk to someone in confidence do contact our Rector.
Full details of our Benefice church activities, worship and prayer life are printed on the weekly Benefice Pew leaflet available in all our churches or by regular e-mail from our Rector.
Our aim is – as Jesus put it - to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength and to love your neighbour as yourself. Mark 12:31
What is a Christian?
Christians believe that Jesus Christ is God, who came to live amongst us, to show us how we could live life to the full, to die for our failures (on the cross) and then be raised to life again. We believe Jesus is both Saviour ? rescuing us from our selfishness, and Lord ? giving our life purpose and direction. Find out more by reading a Bible [see Bible Gateway], by contacting our Rector [barkergill@hotmail.com], or by coming to one of our Sunday services or events.

49 Club begins a new year
We would like to thank everyone who has taken part in this year’s draw, which raises much needed funds for All Saints’ Church. Through this, we have raised £1,508.00 a year for Church funds.
We begin a new year at the end of October so we do hope we can rely on your support again. If you have not taken part before, but would like to do so, please get in touch with Angie Robbins on 01869 810587 or Mary Marriott on 01869 810267.
Croughton Cemetery
Croughton Cemetery is located on Brackley Road and is maintained by the Parish Council. Improvements were made at the cemetery in 2005 when the Council installed an improved access road, a new gate and fencing and Councillors trimmed back and cleared overgrown trees and shrubs.
In order to ensure that the cemetery is attractive overall, the Council has implemented rules for individual plots. Burials are allotted a full size grave on which a headstone may be erected. Internment of ashes are assigned a small plot on which a small flagstone may be placed. The type and size of headstone or flagstone has to be approved by the Council prior to installation. No bricks or edging stones may be placed around plots as this makes it difficult for the grass to be cut.
