What is a Parish Council

A Parish Council is the lowest tier of local government. Parish Councillors determine and set policy to cater for the social, cultural, welfare and environmental needs of its parish.

Croughton Parish Council consists of nine voluntary Councillors who are elected for a four-year term of office to serve and administer for the needs of the residents of Croughton. When a vacancy occurs, a new member is elected or co-opted until the next full election. The next election for the Parish Council will take place in May 2007. We hope that this will be a democratically fought election and to this end we hope to see new candidates. Please contact any Councillor or the Parish Clerk if you want to find out more.

All Councillors are expected to adhere to the Good Councillor’s Guide and complete a Register of Interests on election or co-option.

The Council currently meets at Croughton Village Hall, Wheelers Drive, Croughton, Northants, NN13 5ND.

Croughton village is one of three villages which make up Littlebrook Ward in South Northamptonshire District. The other two are Aynho and Evenley.
